In the heart of our quaint town of Santa Ynez is the charming tasting room of Fontes & Phillips. New kids on the block, (but not new to winemaking), they are a very welcomed addition here in town.

After many years in the wine industry, husband and wife, Alan Phillips and Rochelle Fontes created this family owned label to pursue their personal passion with wine. Alan has been crafting wines for 30 plus years with some very prestigious wineries including S. Anderson, Monticello, Foley, Lincourt, and most recently, director of winemaking at Terravant. Alan and Rochelle are now solely focused on their wines. They are creating small lot, vineyard designate, artisan wines. Their line-up includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Sparkling Wine (predominantly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir), Panky Rosé (equal parts Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah), and Pinot Noir. (The La Encantada Pinot is gorgeous!).

A theme throughout their wines is elegance. Each wine they create is beautifully structured, balanced and easy to drink. Fontes & Phillips is a comfortable, laid back place to enjoy tasting some serious wines, without too much seriousness. They have a friendly and knowledgeable staff, and often you can find Rochelle or Alan behind the bar, pouring their passion and their stories.

Fontes & Phillips is open Thursday through Saturday from 11am-5pm and Sunday 11am – 4pm. They are located at 3630 Sagunto Street in Santa Ynez. Conveniently, they are directly across the street from the Inn. Fontes & Phillips offers complimentary tastings to our guests of the Inn, so make sure to stop by and have a taste. Make sure to check out their great holiday sale prices going on now too! Perfect timing for your holiday feasts! We are sure you’ll be happy you visited Fontes & Phillips.
