Local Winery Spotlight: Consilience & Tre Anelli

Posted on

Consilience became a reality in March of 1999 when winemaker and co-owner, Brett Escalera, along with partner Tom Daughters released their very first wine – their 1997 Santa Barbara County Syrah.

Who would have known more than a decade later they are still sharing their wines with people all over the country.

As many followers know, Consilience focuses loosely on Rhone varietals with grapes sourced from some of the best and most exciting vineyards throughout Santa Barbara County.

And Then There Was Tre Anelli…

In 2007, Brett and Tom teamed up with Tom’s brother, Ken Daughters to launch “Tre Anelli“, another wine label, producing Italian and Spanish varietal wines, also sourced predominantly from Santa Barbara County.

Both tasting rooms are located in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley in the quaint town of Los Olivos, CA, just a quick drive from the Santa Ynez Inn.

According to Consilience, “Great wine can be enjoyed alone or with the best of company, but it’s through people that the wine experience lives on.”

And while the people are important, Consilience also is dog-friendly, with their own four -legged greeter and mascot, Ryder, making the wine-tasting experience a little more sweet.
